Arranging Care

Arranging complex care can feel overwhelming. PCS brings the experience, clinical oversight and practical support needed to build a package that fits your needs and expectations. Depending on your circumstances, there are three main routes into care.

NHS Continuing Healthcare / Continuing Care

Funded by an Integrated Care Board (ICB)

For adults, NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) is arranged and funded by the NHS following an eligibility assessment. Children and young people have a separate Continuing Care pathway. Where PCS is selected to deliver the package, we work with you and the funding body to assess requirements, agree the care plan and costs, recruit the team, provide client-specific training and directly employ the support workers needed.

Direct Payment / Personal Health Budget

Funds allocated directly to you or your family

We work directly with you to assess your needs and agree a support plan, then provide as much or as little support as you’d like in setting it up – from helping you employ your own care workers to employing them ourselves on your behalf. We can also work with your ICB or local authority where they are involved in your funding arrangements.

Compensation Care

Via interim payments and/or a compensation settlement

We work alongside legal advisers, case managers and insurers to establish and coordinate appropriate care packages. Where PCS is commissioned to provide case management, our case managers can coordinate the wider package and provide the reports and information required to support the legal case.

Supported Living Accommodation

Specialist placement care in the heart of Northamptonshire for clients with complex needs including ventilation dependency, spinal cord injury, brain injuries and tetraplegia.

Purpose-built supported living adjoining PCS Head Office. Modern facilities for up to five clients in single en-suite accommodation, with 24-hour care for over-18s – ideal as a transition from hospital, for respite, or for long-term care.
